Things to know about hiking
- A typical pace for hiking is between 2.5 to 5 km/h, it depends on your physical condition and on the terrain
- An easy way to know if you are in the correct pace for your physical condition, is to follow the simple rule: while walking, you should be able to speak and breathe without any difficulty
- The objective of the hikes is to appreciate the flora, fauna and the views. This means enjoying time in the nature
- The hiking moment will give you a relax time from the busy life
- The basic principle while hiking, it is to respect the nature and minimize the impact on it
- Always use the existing paths, and do not pick plants or kill animals
- Do not leave litter behind
For all trails we recommend the following equipment:
- Hat or cap for sunny days, something warmer if your hiking in the winter
- To dress (for short hikes just wear comfortable cloths):
- 1st layer: hiking breathable shirt (short or long sleeve)
- 2nd layer: lightweight fleece
- 3rd layer: rain jacket/wind breaker (depending on weather conditions)
- Hiking pants (for short hikes something comfortable is enough)
- Rain pants (depending on weather conditions)
- Trekking boots (for short hikes comfortable shoes are enough, such as sneakers)
- Trekking poles (recommended for harder hikes)
- Sunglasses
- Sun cream – very important any time of year and for any type of hikes
- 1L water bottle
- Snack – healthy and nutritious
